ATN is now Offering Two New Programs!

 

PLATO LEARNING
Plato is a self-paced computer-based program for students from elementary school to post-secondary school.  Plato assists students with the development of new academic skills, building on their existing skills, and preparing them for future educational and vocational endeavors.
WORKSTART
The WorkStart Employment Planning program is designed to assist those facing an employment or career transition. Clients work through a process of finding out more about their work personality, skills, abilities, aptitudes, and capabilities, and helps users identify and explore several occupations where they could best succeed.

French Lessons for Beginners
Always wanted to learn French?  Now you can!
ATN Access Inc. is pleased to announce we will be hosting an introductory course in French!  The course will be taught by a native of France with over 14 years of teaching experience.  Topics to be covered will include:
  • Practical vocabulary
  • Basic grammar
  • Essential phrases
Start Date: January 20th, 2010 - (10 classes)
Class Time: 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Location: ATN Classroom #1 - Room 503, 5th Floor Skill Centre
Cost: $100.00

Tanys Quesnel Living Learning Center

The TQ is offering Senior’s Hands On workshops.  Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:30 am – 11:30 am TQ has a different workshop available.  You can also see the new updated schedule on ATN’s website http://www.atn.on.ca.

Attention Seniors!  The New Year is a good time to think about learning about all the wonderful new technology available to you.  Especially if you've received special new gadgets for Christmas!

WHAT: This coming January, in addition to our regularly scheduled Senior's Computer Workshops, Tanys Quesnel Living Learning Centre is offering two very timely technology workshops.
WHEN:

Tuesday, Jan 12th, 2010, an introduction to Digital Cameras.   Learn the basics of taking digital pictures and having the picture(s) of your choice printed or transferred to your computer.

Tuesday, Jan 19th, 2010, get a hands-on lesson regarding portable GPS systems (Global Positioning Satellite Systems) and how to choose one and use one.  We’ll show you how to use a GPS to navigate around town or around the world and discuss the different types of GPS units you may come across.

New Computers for the Absolute Beginner courses are starting again in January.  This course is specifically geared towards seniors.
The 6 week evening course will introduce you to the basic operations of a personal computer.   You will be shown key skills and gain the confidence needed to ensure that you get maximum enjoyment from using a computer no matter what you use it for.
WHAT: Computers for the Absolute Beginner - a 6 week, one evening per week, introductory course in computer use.

Skills for Employment Program

4-Week Introduction to Computers
WHEN: January 4th, 2010 - January 29th, 2010
WHERE: ATN Access Inc. - 141 Dundas Street, Suite #507

The January program began on January 4, 2010.  There are still some openings available.  This half-day program introduces users to basic WORD and Internet skills.  This is an excellent program for those who haven’t worked on a computer before or a good refresher course for those who haven’t used a computer in a while.  ATN has the most up-to-date hardware and software solutions designed for people who cannot easily read a computer screen or use a traditional keyboard or mouse.  Ph: 519-433-7950.

The next program begins on Monday, February 1, 2010.
